Product Description

POLYLAC® ABS resin is an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) copolymer manufactured by CHIMEI Corporation. It is an amorphous thermoplastic material polymerized from styrene, acrylonitrile and butadiene. Produced with mature production processes, it features consistent batch quality and a full range of grades for various processing methods and application conditions.

Key Material Properties

  • Structural Performance
1.The styrene component provides rigidity, surface gloss and processability; the acrylonitrile component enhances surface hardness, chemical resistance and thermal stability; the butadiene rubber phase delivers excellent impact strength and low-temperature toughness.

  • Physical Properties
2.It has balanced mechanical strength, rigidity and toughness, good dimensional stability and low mold shrinkage, plus excellent surface finish for high-gloss appearance. Different grades feature varied melt flow rates, suitable for standard injection molding, extrusion and other forming processes, ideal for complex-shaped products.

  • Weatherability & Chemical Resistance
3.It has basic resistance to daily detergents, greases and similar chemicals. General-purpose grades are not intended for long-term outdoor exposure; weather-modified grades are recommended for outdoor use.

  • Compliance
4.Main grades comply with RoHS, REACH SVHC and relevant environmental regulations. Certain grades have obtained UL certification, food contact or medical compliance certifications (refer to official material certificates for confirmation), meeting export regulatory requirements globally.

  • Product Grades
5.Includes general high-gloss grades, high-impact grades, heat-resistant grades, flame-retardant grades, transparent MABS grades and high-flow grades to meet differentiated requirements for appearance, toughness, heat resistance and flame retardancy.

Typical Applications

  1. Home appliance housings & components: TV, refrigerator, air conditioner, kitchen/bath appliance casings, control panels, etc.

  2. Consumer electronics & peripherals: monitor housings, computer cases, speaker enclosures, charger casings, etc.

  3. Automotive interior parts: dashboard components, door trim panels, center console assemblies, etc.

  4. Daily goods & toys: storage containers, cosmetic packaging, educational toys, sports equipment accessories

  5. Industrial & construction products: instrument housings, decorative building components, pipe fittings, etc.

  6. Special compliant grades: medical device housings and food containers (verify compliance of specific grades before use)

Processing Guidelines

  • Main processing methods: injection molding, extrusion; compatible with secondary finishing such as painting, electroplating and bonding

  • Adequate drying is recommended prior to processing to reduce moisture-related defects. Refer to official TDS documents for detailed processing parameters.

  • Base color: natural high-gloss resin; custom coloration can be achieved via compounding

Packaging

  • Standard specification: 25 kg per original manufacturer bag

FAQS

  • What are the core advantages of carbon fiber composites?
Core advantages include ultra-light weight and high specific strength (far higher than steel and aluminum), excellent corrosion resistance, aging resistance, long service life, good fatigue resistance, stable deformation, low thermal expansion coefficient and high structural designability for complex components.
  • What are the main types of carbon fiber?
Classified by precursors: PAN-based, pitch-based and rayon-based. Classified by mechanical properties: high-strength (T-series), high-modulus (M-series), ultra-high strength & modulus. Classified by tow size: small tow (1K–24K) and large tow (48K & above).
  • What is high-performance carbon fiber?
High-performance carbon fiber is an inorganic fiber material with carbon content over 90%, featuring high strength, high modulus, light weight, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance and low thermal expansion. It is the core reinforcement material for advanced lightweight composites.
  • What is the difference between small tow and large tow carbon fiber?
Small tow carbon fiber has better uniformity, lower strength dispersion and superior performance, suitable for aerospace, military and high-end precision equipment. Large tow features high cost performance and mass production adaptability, widely used in wind power, rail transit, new energy vehicles and civil lightweight fields.
